15 vehicles did the Tahoe Donner Four Wheel Drive Club annual trek to view the petroglyphs in Lagomarsino Canyon reached from Lockwood, Nevada.  The Washington Toll road has gotten significantly worse since Senator Pat McCarran’s Mother delivered home grown fruits and vegetables to Virginia City using the route.  It’s a rocky, bumpy ride requiring a high clearance, short wheelbase 4WD vehicle now.  But those who persist are rewarded with sights of wild horse herds, even a colt, and the amazing petroglyphs covering the rock faces in the canyon.  See http://www.nvrockart.org/aan_pages/txt/lagomarsino_canyon.pdf for a detailed description of the rock art.

Some of groups rock crawling aficionados explored Bronco Canyon near Lagomarsino Canyon, a boulder littered drainage, requiring careful lines to get through safely.  All four of the Jeeps made it through giving their drivers and riders good stories to tell.
