2023 October TD News

Truckee is an amazing place to live!  Under a crystal-clear blue sky, the TD4WD Club’s August 27th outing was up to Webber Lake, White Rock Lake and then a 4-mile round trip hike up the 9143’ Mount Lola.  WOW!  Wild flowers! Spectacular views of the surrounding lakes and peaks, and even a bald eagle sighting!  The hike up from White Rock Lake was pretty steep in a couple of places but is less than half the distance then the Mount Lola Trailhead.  The Forest Service Roads to White Rock Lake are well marked.  The road along the northwest shore requires a high clearance 4WD vehicle, or just park and walk from the campground.  Heed the faded “No Vehicles Behind this Sign” as although the road continues a short distance further before turning to single track, it is steep, fragile and has no turn around.  See www.TD4Wheelers.org to join the club.
